About Us - Introduction

Specialist Maintenance Services Ltd (SMS) provides a professional and competitive service in all aspects of offshore crane and lifting operations.

We provide specialist services in the operation and maintenance of cranes and associated lifting equipment, design services with relation to lifting and associated equipment, and inspection services.

This ranges from the complete design and implementation of large, lifting and crane projects to the design of special purpose lifting equipment and the provision of highly skilled crane personnel.

We provide a wide range of services to cater for all your crane and lifting management requirements.

Formed in 1988 and employing a staff of around 100, the company’s head office is in Aberdeen, Scotland, with additional bases in Norway, Malaysia and Abu Dhabi.

To date, SMS has undertaken projects across the globe, including offshore Mexico, Namibia, Nigeria, Tunisia, Qatar, Azerbaijan and the United Arab Emirates.
