ABERDEEN-BASED FIRM ADDS 16 MEMBERS TO ITS TEAM

An Aberdeen-based offshore crane and lifting services firm has appointed 16 new members of staff in response to a new contract award.

Specialist Maintenance Services Ltd (SMS) has won a three year contract with oil and gas firm, Apache – believed to be worth £2.75m.

The deal will see SMS provide crane operation and crane maintenance services on four of the five Forties platforms – Alpha, Bravo, Delta and Echo – in Block 21 of the United Kingdom Continental Shelf (UKCS).

John Morrison, joint managing director with SMS, said: “We are delighted to have secured this new three year contract with Apache.

“The deal is particularly pleasing as Apache is a new client for us. We have taken on the additional members of staff in order to ensure we have sufficient resources to implement our services to the high standard our existing customers enjoy.

“We look forward to working with Apache and to developing this new relationship further.”
